Where It All Began
My journey in the construction industry began in 2017, with no management title, no company of my own, and no shortcuts. I started from the very bottom, taking on basic tasks, learning from experienced tradespeople, and gradually working my way through the industry. Those early years taught me the importance of hard work, discipline, patience, and respect for every trade involved in a construction project. As I gained experience, I had the privilege of working alongside skilled professionals, business owners, and mentors who recognized my determination and encouraged me to develop not only my practical abilities but also my technical knowledge. Their encouragement helped shape one of the most important decisions of my career: to combine hands-on construction experience with professional education. I wanted to understand construction from every perspective, not only how to complete the work, but also how to plan it, manage it, supervise it, and deliver it to a professional standard.
Building Knowledge Alongside Experience
While continuing to work professionally in the construction industry, I invested in my education through respected Canadian institutions. I pursued Specialized Woodworking and Interior Design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), developing my understanding of craftsmanship, precision, materials, and interior construction. I also obtained my Carpentry Qualification, strengthening the technical foundation behind my practical experience. As my responsibilities grew, I continued my education at Brighton College, where I earned my qualification in Construction Project Management. This allowed me to expand my knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and construction leadership. To further develop my understanding of regulatory requirements and construction standards, I completed Building Code studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Throughout these years, I continued working on active construction sites. This balance between education and practical experience allowed me to apply new knowledge directly to real projects and real challenges. For me, education was never about collecting certificates. It was about becoming a more knowledgeable, responsible, and capable construction professional.
A Decade of Hands-On Construction Experience
Since 2017, I've had the opportunity to contribute to approximately 200 construction projects, ranging from smaller residential improvements to larger residential and commercial developments. My professional background includes new construction, exterior siding, framing, specialized woodworking, carpentry, interior finishing, renovations, site supervision, project coordination, and construction management. Working across different project types gave me an understanding of how construction projects operate, from the early planning stages to the final finishing details. I also learned that every project comes with its own challenges, expectations, budgets, and responsibilities. Over time, I developed a strong appreciation for proper planning, effective communication, attention to detail, and the importance of delivering work that is not only visually appealing but also safe, functional, and built to last.
From New Construction to Renovation
One of the most valuable transitions in my career was moving further into the renovation industry. Although new construction and renovation share many technical principles, they present very different challenges. New construction often begins with a clear structure and planned sequence of work. Renovation requires an additional level of flexibility, investigation, problem-solving, and adaptation to existing conditions. Behind an existing wall, floor, or ceiling, unexpected conditions can completely change the direction of a project. Through my experience working with established general contracting companies across British Columbia, I learned how to approach these challenges with patience, practical judgment, and professionalism. I was fortunate to collaborate with highly experienced contractors, project managers, supervisors, and skilled tradespeople who helped shape my understanding of construction management and quality workmanship. Some experiences taught me new techniques. Others taught me valuable lessons about leadership, responsibility, communication, and decision-making. Every project contributed to the professional I am today.
The Beginning of Eagle Forge Contracting
In 2024, after years of hands-on experience, professional education, and encouragement from respected individuals within the construction industry, I decided it was time to take the next step. That decision led to the establishment of Eagle Forge Contracting. My goal was never simply to start another construction company. I wanted to create a business built on the principles that had guided me throughout my career: integrity, accountability, quality craftsmanship, professional communication, and genuine respect for clients. Since its establishment, Eagle Forge Contracting has taken on residential and commercial renovation projects, applying the knowledge and experience developed throughout my professional journey. I believe that every client deserves to feel confident about the people working on their property. Whether a project involves a small repair, specialized carpentry, a residential renovation, or a more complex construction scope, my approach remains the same: understand the client's needs, provide practical solutions, communicate clearly, and deliver work with care and attention to detail.
Our Approach to Every Project
At Eagle Forge Contracting, we understand that construction is more than materials, measurements, and schedules. For homeowners, a renovation represents an investment in their property, comfort, and everyday life. For commercial clients, construction work can directly affect business operations, functionality, safety, and long-term performance. That's why we approach every project with a commitment to understanding the client's priorities, expectations, and budget. We believe in offering practical options, explaining potential challenges, and helping clients make informed decisions. Our focus is not simply on finding the most expensive solution or the fastest way to complete a job. It is on identifying an appropriate balance between quality, durability, functionality, and cost. No project is too small to deserve professionalism, and no project is too large to benefit from careful attention to detail.
Always Learning. Always Improving.
One principle has remained constant throughout my career: the learning process never ends. Even after more than a decade in the construction industry, I continue to develop my professional knowledge and improve my skills. Construction methods, materials, building technologies, municipal regulations, and industry standards continue to evolve. I believe staying informed about these changes is an essential responsibility of a construction professional. From building code requirements and municipal guidelines to modern construction techniques, project management practices, and innovative materials, I remain committed to continuous professional development. My goal is to ensure that Eagle Forge Contracting continues to grow alongside the industry while maintaining the values on which the company was founded.
Our Commitment to Our Clients
At Eagle Forge Contracting, we believe that a successful project is measured by more than its final appearance. It is measured by the quality of the workmanship, the professionalism of the process, the communication throughout the project, and the confidence our clients feel in the results. We strive to build lasting relationships through transparency, reliability, respect, and consistent attention to quality. Every project is an opportunity to earn trust, demonstrate our capabilities, and continue building a reputation that reflects the standards we believe in. As the founder and owner, I take pride in the journey that brought me here, from starting at the bottom of the construction industry in 2017 to establishing Eagle Forge Contracting in 2024. And while I'm proud of how far I've come, I believe there is always more to learn, more to improve, and more to achieve. Our mission is simple: to deliver quality construction and renovation services with integrity, professionalism, and craftsmanship our clients can depend on.
